   Captain Ronald Wilhelmson, age 70, of Gig Harbor Washington passed away March 29th of natural causes at Tacoma General Hospital. Ron was born January 24, 1949 to Lucille & Floyd Wilhelmson at Fort Morgan, Colorado. In his teen age years he was a good student and was very athletic. He excelled at both football and the arts at Fort Morgan High School in Colorado. In 1972 Ron received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of North Colorado and thereafter taught Art classes until he entered the Air Force in July of 1974.

   Ron flew the C-141 with Military Airlift Command for seven years on active duty. He was thereafter an active reservist on flight status, flying the C-141 at McChord AFB. Ron was hired by Northwest Airlines on June 03, 1985. His initial checkout at NWA was as a Boeing 727 Second Officer. He thereafter rotated through the seats on the 727. In his later years of employment at NWA Ron flew the 747/200 based at Anchorage.  He retired from NWA after thirty-seven years of flying on January 24, of 2009.

   In retirement Ron continued to excel, even winning a golf tournament. He was an ardent sports fan (Seahawks) and had a passion for dogs. Ron made it a tradition to make twice annual treks to Hawaii.  

   His survivors include his wife of 18 years Anderson Flight Wilhelmson and his stepson Antony Franklin Klein; Nephew Reggie Wilhelmson; Niece Rhonda Wilhelmson; Nephew Robert Wilhelmson.
